About the Role
Ghent Landscape is currently seeking motivated individuals looking to join our growing winter maintenance team in a Loader Snow Plow Operator position. Suitable team members are comfortable working evenings and on call shifts. The successful candidate will report directly to the Snow Operations Manager.
The ideal candidate must have reliable transportation and be able to effectively operate a loader with a plow. They must be available on call 24/7 for snow removal season (Nov 15 - April 15).
This position could lead to full-time year round employment.
Salary: $28-$35/hr, plus bonus paid out upon season completion. Compensation based on experience and position offered
Responsibilities
Snow removal and/or salting at commercial and/or residential properties
Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment
Communicate with supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved
Follow site plans to ensure snow and ice are cleared per the customer’s request
Ensure compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Responsible for own transportation to the job site
Responsible to provide some personal protective equipment
Must be willing to work nights and on call shifts
Other duties will be assigned as required
Requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
1-3 years previous experience with heavy equipment such as loaders and skid steers
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Must have reliable transportation to your machine
Must be safety conscious
Great communication skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Must be punctual
Must obtain WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety Awareness training
